Week 3 has been and gone already. The children are settling in to their new classes and working hard. Routines and class treaty’s are being established and adhered to.
PARENT INFORMATION EVENINGS - Thank you for all the parents that attended our parent information evenings. These evenings form the ground work for the communication at Elm Park. We are aware that many of you work and it is not always easy to get into school or keep up with what is happening at school. We try very hard to keep up the communication with you and we really appreciate your communication with us as well.
UNIFORMS - Thank you to all the parents who have named all the clothing and shoes, it helps keep track of all their items.  The children who are wearing our new shirt are looking so smart, gradually the whole school will be wearing them. 
CAMP Y6 - Year 6 children are getting organised for their Camp MERC stay from Wednesday to Friday next week. How lucky they are to be at the beach in this fantastic weather.
FIREWOOD - We still have a large amount of firework for sale on the field. Please contact the office if you wish to make a purchase  $25 per trailer load.
COMPUTERS FOR SALE - Please email Belinda Johnston or contact the school office if you are interested in buying one of our old classroom eMacs - photo attached.   All come with keyboard, mouse, security cable and basic software including:

Looking Ahead
SCHOOL CROSSING - Pedestrian crossing helpers desperately needed! If you are able to help with keeping our children safe when crossing Gossamer Drive in the morning from 8.30 to 8.50 am or in the afternoon from 3.00 – 3.15 pm can you please see the office ladies or Mrs Holdom in Room 9. Thank you!
Used Conference or Computer Bags  - We are looking for old conference bags or computer laptop bags that are no longer needed. If you are able to donate them we would love to have them as Maths Games bags for students to practice their maths facts at home. Please drop them into the office. Thanks. Walking School Bus - We now have two walking school bus routes, Number 1 leaves from Gossamer Drive 4 Square at 8.25 am and Number 2 leaves from the corner of Archmillen Ave and Marvin Downs Ave at 8.35 am.  Get your walking shoes on and join us for mid-term and end of term treats!
Parent Meeting - Come and find out more about walking school buses with Vicky from Auckland Transport, and how you and/or your children can get involved. Thursday the 21st Feb at 2.30 pm  If you are interested in walking a group of children to school come along and find out about this.
PTA Wheels at Lunchtime On Thursday 21 Feb you can bring along your 'Wheels' for supervised play from 1.15 - 1.45 pm in return for a Gold Coin Donation. We would also appreciate the assistance of parents so please talk to the classroom teacher if you are able to help out.  Thanks.
PTA Annual Meeting - Tuesday 26 Feb at 7 pm in the Staffroom. Coffee and cake will be served.  All are welcome.

Student Achievement

Big Congratulations goes to Lachlan McClintock and Andrew Thomas for representing Counties Manukau, Under 11 ELITE Boys and Winning the IPS North Island Touch Tournament in Rotorua, January 2013. Well done.

The Parenting Through Separation programme at Willowbank School for  parents who are in the process of separating or who have separated. Girls' Brigade is starting soon! - Girls' Brigade is a girls Youth organisation working to equip girls and young women (5-17yrs old) in a range of life skills, adventures and confidence building. We meet Tuesday nights at Howick Presbyterian Church (Cnr Ridge Road & Vincent Street, Howick). Cost is $150per girl per year. Sunnyhills Netball Club is inviting all year 4, 5 and 6 players to come and play netball in 2013! Basketball Development - Kiwi Hoops - The Kiwi Hoops Programme offers an introduction to basketball & will provide individuals with a good fundamental base & knowledge of the rules of the game in a fun & engaging environment. This programme is for player’s ages 6-10, led by ABSL Accredited Coach, Tania Hunter.  Kiwi Hoops provides the highest quality junior basketball training programme in Auckland.
