Annual Trips/ Cultural Activities & Resources Costs for 2012 - During the year classes will be involved in a number of cultural activities, trips and using resources. These activities are closely related to the learning objectives for the year. The total amount is $100 for the whole of the year, however this can be paid on a term by term basis. ($25 per term).

The funds contribute to the following:

· Art materials for specific projects.

· Writing resources – jovis, felt pens, coloured pencils (these are purchased in bulk by the school and are therefore cheaper and are kept by the teacher to avoid losses).

· Water safety activities – children are taught water safety skills by both teachers and outside experts.

· Mathletics – a web based mathematics programme that supports our maths programme. This pays for the license for Years 4, 5 & 6 children who can have access to this programme at home and at school.

· PMP – Perceptual Motor Programme for Years 1&2. This programme supports learners fine and gross motor skills and assists the children to focus on learning.

· Extra curricular resources: workbooks, seminars, Life Education Trust.

· Trips to a variety of sites that are associated with the Inquiry Learning topic or context.

· Guest speakers.

· Cultural activities.

· Buses to transport the children to various programmes or activities.

Focus on Children

Room 8 had such an amazing time during the holidays. Read our stories to see what we did!

I had a wonderful holiday because I went to the cinema to watch the Smurfs in 3D! I remembered to bring my 3D glasses to watch the movie. It was a wonderful movie. It was a wonderful as a dream. Belinda Morris

In the holiday I had an extremely fun time because I went to the pools. My sister wasn’t having a good time because I was splashing her with a water gun! It was also my aunty’s birthday. I had three pancakes and four big scoops of ice-cream. I had some of the cake for lunch today. Macu Salato

I was so excited when we went to the parade. We went on the train and it went through two tunnels and under heaps of bridges. When we got off the train we were in a place under water and we didn’t know where to go but we made it just before the parade started. I could see the All Blacks and the trophy. It was as cool as a game! Ashton Liggett

I had the most fantastic day of my life because I watched the All Blacks play in the final. The All Blacks got 8 points and France got 7 points, so the All Blacks won! It was taking so long and I was so tired. New Zealand got the trophy and it was as shiny as the sun. Everybody was kissing the trophy. Julius Boysen

In the holidays I had a fantastic time because I went my dad’s holiday program. We painted jandals and we went bowling and to MOTAT too. It was so exciting when I went to the parade on Monday. I got to go on my mum’s shoulders. I got pins and needles in my legs! I saw the All Blacks on a truck and some cheerleaders doing cartwheels. Molly Busfield
